Armadillos are animals in Lost Ember that are able to be possessed by the player.

Abilities[edit | edit source]

Armadillos have the unique ability to dig underground. If the player presses and holds spacebar, then uses WASD to control the armadillo, then it can go underneath walls and dig into underground tunnels. However, it's very slow. The armadillo also has the ability to sniff for buried goods, such as mushrooms, carrots, and other things. By right-clicking and holding, the player will be able to see things that they wouldn't otherwise be able to see. Buried things will be highlighted, and if the player digs and walks into the buried things, then the buried thing will go up to the surface.

Appearances[edit | edit source]

Armadillos do not appear in memories, however they do spawn normally. They first spawn in Chapter II: Igniting the Fire, when you have to dig underneath a wall to reach a memory. Later, in Chapter IV: Close to the Sun, it is necessary to use an armadillo in order to dig up onto a path that is unreachable otherwise.

Legendary Armadillo[edit | edit source]

[Spoilers ahead]

In Chapter IV: Close to the Sun, in order to get to the armadillo, the player must possess an armadillo in a dirty patch of ground. Then, right-click to sniff, and if you're in the right spot, you should smell an underground tunnel below you. Go above the underground tunnel and then press spacebar to dig into the tunnel. Follow it until you find a brightly glowing armadillo that is the Legendary Armadillo.
